The Story Behind the Gurgle Pot

The Gurgle Pot is more than just a unique beverage pitcher. It produces a delightful "gurgling" sound as trapped air is released from the tail after pouring.

The designer, Matt Ellison, shares his inspiration:
"Years ago, I attended my brother's wedding in a small village in Southern France. Since there were no hotels in town, all guests were matched with French hosts. My hosts spoke no English and I spoke no French which made dinner conversation a challenge. Long stretches of awkward silences were compounded by the fact that French dinners can last 3-4 hours. There was, however, one saving grace...a fish shaped water pitcher that "gurgled." I found myself drinking more water than wine so I could fill the silent room with "gurgling" and  unite the table with smiles."

Pour, Listen, Enjoy!

Leiko Clutches...Vintage Revisited

What is it about vintage items that is so intriguing? For me I think it's imagining the life of the item...where was it made, where has it traveled and whose life has it inspired before mine?

The creator of Leiko Clutches feels that same connection, using vintage fabrics from Hawaii ties her to her ancestors. "They have come from Tutu's old dresses and Uncle's favorite aloha shirts. These vintage fabrics are really great memories- it's a special part of our lives when things were simple, wholesome and stress free. It's truly an emotional connection to family and awesome friends that have made our lives here in Hawaii so special."
